I am interested to discuss a subtopic under the topic of methodology which is instrumentation because now I am in the process of translating the instruments that will be used in my study. Based on my understanding, instruments were very important to be used in a quantitative study to measure different variables in a study. In this subtopic, I should state the title and brief description of each measurement and how the instrument was scored and interpreted. For my research, I used a Career-Related Parent Support Scale (CRPSS) and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (CDMSE-SF) to collect data. Then, the Career-Related Parental Support Scale (CRPSS) developed by Turner et al. (2003) used to perceive the parent support was measured using a 27-item according to four sub-scales, which are instrumental assistance, career-related modeling, verbal encouragement, and emotional support. Meanwhile, Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (CDMSE-SF) created by Betz et al. (1996) to know the individuals' self-efficacy to make career decisions itself was measured using 25-item according to five subscales, which are self-appraisal, occupational information, goal selection, planning, and problem-solving. A five-point Likert-type scale measures responses that range for both instruments and the higher scores indicate higher parent's support and career decision self-efficacy respectively.

Design and procedure. Based on my topic research, I will use quantitative as my research design to find out the truth. I'm using questionnaire to measure the truth and to do the analysis in my research. The procedure is I will divide the questionnaire into two part which are by giving the real questionnaire to the respondent to answer and the second I will use platform online to spread the questionnaire.

Research Question is a question that helps researcher to focus the study includes pinpoint the exactly what the study purpose.

In writing the research question, researcher must know how to write the research question and what research question should be. There are several important things that need to ensure in writing a research question such, question must focus on single problem or issue, question must relevant to the filed of study, able to reach the literature review and etc.

Process in writing a research question is also involve with several steps. In writing a research question, the first step that we need to do is choosing a broad topics. Its important to us to gather enough information before we start to write a research question. Then, narrow down the selected topic into a specific topic that you want to focus. After that, formulate a question based on the topic and ensure that the question must be an open question or a probing question, for instance start the question with how, does, are, what and others.

Based on my research proposal, I want to discuss about topic under methodology that is design and procedure. My research design is a qualitative design. So, I have to make an interview with my target population. According to Rubin & Rubin, 2012 said that, interviews provide researchers with rich and detailed qualitative data for understanding participants’experiences, how they describe those experiences, and the meaning they make of those experiences. By doing the interview, I might get a better understanding on the research that I want to conduct based on the respondent experiences.In order to make an interview, I have to think of the procedure to run the interview. I have to get the permission first from the respondent and I may need to ask the respondent when is the suitable time for me to interview them. Other than that, I have to be prepared of recording the interview session using digital recorder as well as taking notes during the interview if the respondent does not feel comfortable of getting recorded.

The topic that i interest to share is about methodology; instrument. Instrument is the general term that researchers use for a measurement device (survey, test, questionnaire). To help distinguish between instrument and instrumentation, consider that the instrument is the device and instrumentation is the course of action (the process of developing, testing, and using the device). i like to discuss further this topic because while i am doing my research, i also can measure myself using the instrument. i also like to study more on how was it happen, how was it measure and how other people or respondent think or feel.

Since myresearch is about The Relationship Between Leadership Preference and Self Esteem among USIM' s Students so i use the instrument of the self esteem scale by Rosenberg (1965) and the instrument of leadership preference.

actually i still search and collecting the instrument for leadership because I found an instrument that could be used in my study but I'm not sure if it works. so for now, I'm still searching the instrument to measure the leadership preference.
