Tajuk yang sangat menarik iaitu Krumboltz planned happenstance theory. Saya sangat tertarik bila doktor berkongsikan mengenai kesan covid 19 terhadap pekerjaan. Selain itu, seorang kaunselor juga mesti mempunyai ilmu pengetahuan luas dan peka dengan isu semasa. Akhir sekali, pengalaman kita ada mempengaruhi kerjaya kita.

I get the point that this theory is about a chance. Every unplanned events give clients a chance to get an occupation in the future if they know how to take advantages of it. Counselors help clients learn to take an opportunities from unplanned events.

Asalamualaikum dr, from what i learnt from this topic is Planned Happenstance is a viewpoint in career development that stems from creating opportunities for yourself out of aspirations that you would like to pursue in your career. Planned Happenstance can be framed as the idea to create chance events that turn into actual opportunities. It’s a method that can help you capitalize on events that occur or that you can create to occur in your life. The more chances you develop in your career, the more opportunities you are going to have to create the scenario you want to live out and therefore gain more chances of landing a job you really like. However for what i got is Planned happenstance is a method of curiosity which you use to explore new career opportunities or that you use to create chance events in your life. Whether it is taking a hobby you like and turning it into a job opportunity through exploration and trial and error, or it is seeking out new options through interests you have always wanted to explore, the theory of planned happenstance can help you to find and explore the right options to move your career in a new direction.

Assalamualaikum Dr. In my opinion, this theory is important to counselors in order to help clients making choices for their careers. In this theory, counselors can help clients recognize and incorporate chance events in client's lives. Counselors also help clients generate such events so that they may work with them. Based on this topic i learned that planned happestence theory is very useful and important to us to make a career decision that suit to ourself. Furthermore, this theory also can help us to develop the traits, skills and experience that we will use when to find a career in the future. What I got from the video is there are four steps to encourage curiosity and helps clients to take advantage of unplanned events. first, normalize planned happenstance in clients history, there must something good happen behind this. second, assist client to transform curiosity into opportunities for learning and exploration. third, teach clients to produce desireble chance events and lastly, teach clients to overcome blocks to action.

What I got from Planned Happenstance theory is we must take advantage of chance events in life and try to create something that related to career opportunity. In this theory, there are five elements which is curiosity, persistence, flexibility, optimism and risk taking. There are four steps to encourage curiosity and helps clients take advantage of unplanned events. Firstly, normalize Planned Happenstance in client’s history.
